Anbei ein Service-Bulletin von Aerodyne,welches Icon-Schülergurtzeuge betrifft, die sowohl mit BOC, als auch mit Griff ausgestattet sind. Aerodyne bittet all jene Halter eines solchen Systemes, die nicht schon von ihnen direkt kontaktiert worden sind, sich zu melden. Die Systeme müssen modifiziert werden. Eine Liste der Seriennummern der betroffenen Systeme liegt dem Service-Bulletin bei.

AERODYNE SERVICE BULLETIN:

Issue Date: 25 June 2009

Subject: Service Bulletin for Icon S7, S8 and S9 Student rigs
Background: Aerodyne Research has identified a potential safety issue on certain student Icons. Icon student
rigs which have been manufactured with both a BOC hand deploy and ripcord/spring loaded main pilot chute
are affected by this service bulletin. We have seen an incident in which the bridle from the throw out was
temporarily snagged on the end of the ripcord housing installed on the number 3 closing flap of the main
container. The snag was cleared by the jumpmaster, and no one was injured. But we are concerned enough to
request that these rigs not be jumped with a throw out until a modification has been completed.

Service Bulletin: Please compare the serial number on your student rig with the attached list. If your unit is
affected and you have not been contacted by Aerodyne Research, please promptly communicate with
Aerodyne Research to obtain a retrofit kit. Retrofit Kits will include all the necessary parts and instructions for
a qualified rigger to perform the repairs. Aerodyne will pay for the installation, which we estimate will take a
rigger less than one hour to complete.

precautions to insure your safety. We appreciate your compliance with this request, and we will work to get
you back in the air as quickly as possible.
