Hi all,

Ever since I started skydiving I felt that there should be a way to share my jump events with my friends, if anything to compare progression and attach videos and photos to my jumps. In a sentence, to keep it all neatly organized in one spot I could point my friends to.

The problem was that I never found that place. So I decided to build my own.

I would like to ask anyone who might have interest in keeping an online jump log to take a look at http://jumperr.com and hopefully contribute with some suggestions on how to improve it. You can take a look at my profile here: http://jumperr.com/profiles/nocivus/ (To actually check my jump log you need to be registered, but that only takes 2 minutes anyways smile).

Thanks and blue skies!

Pedro

Hm, I like the idea, but the realisation is not so convincing. Why do people need a login just to view the content? And why do I still need to enter an email after logging in through openID?

Very good points.

You need a login just because I didn’t really want everyone seeing member content (mainly because I would imagine people only wanting fellow members to see their content, though I can be mistaken smile).

The email address is required to be able to send notifications, which are a big part of how the site is working (the points system, the “buddy added videos/photos/links” thing, etc.).

Thank you for your input. I’ll probably show the user’s (public) jump logs to unregistered users also. I think you are right, it should not really make a difference. Besides I can always fine grain the public/private logbook with “show to everyone” and “show to buddies”...
